Hitachi Data Systems Appoints ANZ Director of Services to Grow Services Business
Sydney — October 15, 2014 —Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) today announced the appointment of Kiwa Stevenson as director of services, Australia and New Zealand. The appointment is an integral part of the Hitachi Data Systems growth strategy in the region as the company continues to invest in its solutions and services portfolios to cater to the growing demand from clients, particularly for cloud services.
Stevenson brings with him more than 15 years of experience in the technology sector, joining Hitachi Data Systems from Dell where he worked for 5 years in various senior roles. Most recently, he was the director of the infrastructure and cloud computing business units in Australia and New Zealand where he transformed Dell services capability to a mature infrastructure consulting, integration and managed services practice.
Based in Sydney, Stevenson will report directly into Neil Evans, ANZ regional vice president and general manager. Stevenson will be responsible for supporting key channel partnerships, as well as assisting HDS customers to transform their legacy environments to take advantage of rapidly evolving technologies in big data management, content platforms, and public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Neil Evans said, “Hitachi Data Systems has a strong reputation in ANZ as a best-in-class IT solutions provider. As our business continues to grow, our focus will continue to be about providing our customers with the highest quality solutions, underpinned by great customer service.”
Evans continued, “Kiwa brings a great depth of experience leading strong service teams within the technology sector, and we are confident he will serve our clients’ needs, drive growth across the services portfolio and support the transformation of our business.”
Kiwa Stevenson added: “The technology industry is at a key inflection point, with traditional ways of doing business becoming less relevant against this next wave of cloud and the associated economics of technology consumption.
“Cloud services are a natural evolution for Hitachi Data Systems and a key part of our growth strategy. We have a very strong value proposition to assist our partners and our customers to achieve the economic and technology benefits of cloud.
“Hitachi Data Systems has an incredibly strong set of values and ethics, which is demonstrable in our dedication to our customers’ success. As part of the Hitachi Social Innovation strategy, we have a unique capability to be a key partner in the Australian and New Zealand market.
Hitachi Data Systems has invested significantly into the expansion and development of its solutions portfolio. Kiwa's appointment follows the announcement of a new strategic partnership between Hitachi Data Systems and Avnet Technology Solutions to create a new cloud partner ecosystem. Under the brand Avnet Cloud Connect, the program helps a growing number of resellers and systems integrators to capitalise on the opportunity of cloud computing without the need for capital investment.
