Hitachi Data Systems Wins Second Consecutive Award for Veritas Technology Alliance Partner of the Year

Sydney — June 27, 2017 — Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501), today announced that it has been honoured as a winner of the 2017 Veritas Technology Alliance Partner of the Year (Pacific) for the second consecutive year. The award, announced at a gala event earlier this month (read the news here), recognises the company’s accomplishments over the previous year, ranging from revenue attainment to strategic alignment between HDS and Veritas around technology, solutions and go-to-market in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

“In this fast-paced, highly competitive digital marketplace, partnership is absolutely critical. Our collaboration with Veritas can enable efficient data management, ensure business continuity and information governance, and reduce business risk as organisations attempt to manage and utilise their data. We appreciate the recognition for our accomplishments over the past year and look forward to expanding upon that success,” said Mike Walkey, senior vice president, Global Partner Organization, Hitachi Data Systems.

Phil Teague, industry and alliances solutions director, HDS ANZ said: “Our collaborative and successful relationship with Veritas is one that we’re proud of and we are excited to win the Veritas Technology Alliance Partner of the Year Award for the second consecutive year in Australia and New Zealand. As we look forward, we see tremendous value in partnerships, like ours with Veritas, that can help customers collect, protect, analyse and optimise their most precious asset: their data.”

Janet Docherty, director of channels, Veritas ANZ added: “This award is a testament to our ever-growing relationship and alignment with HDS. In the coming year, we are focused on building on this amazing momentum to capitalise on emerging market requirements and organisational needs around data and information management.”

The Veritas-HDS Partnership
The exponential growth of data and the resources needed to manage it are among the most pressing issues facing business today. And it’s not just the amount of data. It’s where data lives and how it travels between private clouds, public clouds and back to on-premise locations. In these increasingly complex IT environments, it’s important to focus on what’s constant: the data. Veritas information management solutions – from business continuity and backup and recovery to software-defined storage and information governance – are designed around the principle that information is the most important consideration. When Veritas solutions are combined with the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) portfolio, users can collect, protect, analyze and optimize their data even in the most demanding environments.

As another show of alignment, Veritas has signed on as a Gold sponsor of Hitachi’s NEXT 2017 premier user event held September 18-20, 2017 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. For more information, visit
