The portfolio of Hitachi Edge Gateways serve as key infrastructure components for sup-porting veriaty of solutions across multiple verticals including smart cities, transporation, CCTV, retail, banking, etc.
These gateways reside between physical edge devices such as cameras, PLCs, access control panels, etc. and cloud/datacenter infrastructure. They enable data injest using multiple physical and wireless connectivity options and are ruggedized for vehicles and high-vibration industrial environments. By preprocessing data at the location of data col-lection, Hitachi Edge Gateways help to reduce compute and memory requirements in the cloud as well as reduce uncessary traffic over cellular and WLAN networks.
Completely Customizable to Support Any Requirement
Compact, Intelligent, and Ready for Transportation and Public Safety
Small and compact, and part of the Hitachi Visualization Platform (HVP), the HVP-250 model meets the demands of extreme computing environments. It is tested according to IEC 60068-2-27 & IEC 60068-2-64/MIL-STD-810 procedures for shock and vibra-tion. Shock and vibration also meet the in-vehicle UNEC Re.10 E-mark and rolling stock EN50155 standards. A wide power input of 9~36 VDC, operationg temperature range of -25C ~ 70C, and flexible mounting options let HVP-250 thrive in any environment.
HVP-250 comes with several hardware interfaces that can be modified and customized for specific applications using a built-in microprocessor (MCU) and supporting Pykarbon Module. This provides a set of tools for interfacing with the gateway’s CAN bus and DIO ports using Python scripting.
HVP-300 is a slightly larger, robust gateways that supports public safety Band 14 and is authorized to be deployed for first responder networks. It supports up to 6 ports, with 4 of them PoE for gathering data from multiple sensors .
Robust, Heavy Duty Computation That’s Rolling Stock Ready
Designed to operate in harsh conditions, HVP-400 and HVP-450 are EN50155 certified and have passed rigorous testing including EN50121-3-2 and EN60950-1 to fulfill rolling stock requirements. They can be ordered with either RJ45 or M12 PoE+ port options. HVP-400 and HVP-450 feature wide operating temperature capabilities (-40C to 70C), wide range DC power input (from 9V to 48V), and high tolerance to shock/vibration (5G/50G). They include industrial-grade protections including OVP, OCP, ESD Surge, etc. HVP-450 supports multiple GPU options for intensive machine learning/vision applications.
Latency Minization: meet low latency requirements related to video analytics, telemetry data from vehicles and industrial equi-pement by processing data at the edge of the network.
Cost Optimization: mitigate ISP data costs by processing and intelligently pushing data over provider networks only when necessary.
Network Management: mitigate any network congestion by allowing data to traverse net-works on as needed bases.
Power Management: provide and control power requriements of devices at the edge.
Resource Management: compute data at the edge to reduce resource requirements in the data centers and cloud.
Data Management: pre-process, store, and injest data at the edge.
Privacy Risk Reduction: transmit metadata and analytics information only, reducing risks of streaming personal information over the network.
