Keiji Kojima - Chairman

Keiji Kojima joined the Central Research Laboratory of Hitachi, Ltd. in 1982 after completing his master’s in mathematical science from the Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University. As a researcher, he specialized in computer architecture and was a visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University in 1990. In 1993, he transferred to the Systems Development Laboratory, where he became the research director of the Information Service Research Center in 2003. In April 2004, he moved to the business side of Hitachi where he took up the position of deputy general manager of the Internet Platform Division. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. in information sciences from Osaka University. After serving as general manager of the Central Research Laboratory from 2008 to 2011 and the Hitachi Research Laboratory from 2011 to 2014, he was appointed the head of the research and development group and chief technology officer of Hitachi, Ltd. in April 2014. Kojima was a vice president and executive officer of Hitachi, Ltd. from April 2012 to March 2016 and became senior vice president and executive officer and chief executive officer of the services and platforms business unit in April 2016.

Kojima is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ).
