April 02, 2014

Big Data Integration and Analytics platform gives first to market advantage to data driven companies with certified support of Cloudera 5

April 2, 2014, — Delivering the future of analytics Pentaho Corporation today announced that Pentaho Business Analytics is certified on Cloudera 5, Cloudera's unified data platform for the enterprise data hub that was released today. The combination of Pentaho with Cloudera provides organizations with an easy-to-use visual interface for Cloudera data ingestion, manipulation, integration and task orchestration. As a result, organizations are getting a more comprehensive view of data across the enterprise.

Optimized for a Cloudera powered enterprise data hub, Pentaho's Big Data Integration and Analytics platform give data-driven enterprises a competitive edge. Pentaho and Cloudera collaborated early to address big data market requirements and early customer use cases. This early leadership and open platform approach enabled Pentaho to offer deep integration with Impala and YARN, optimizing performance and access to Cloudera 5. In addition, Pentaho provides Cloudera users a 15X improvement in productivity – achieved through Pentaho's visual drag and drop integration tools combined with the unique ability of Pentaho's data integration engine to run and scale directly in-cluster.

"Pentaho has been a loyal partner for years, most recently working in concert with us to accelerate the value and vision of the enterprise data hub," said Tim Stevens, vice president, Corporate and Business Development, Cloudera. "With advanced integration points on Cloudera technologies such as Impala, Search and YARN, we are thrilled to have them in the Cloudera Connect program, certified on Cloudera 5."

"Our data scientists use Pentaho Analytics with Hive and Cloudera Impala for Streamlined Data Refinery. One of the reasons we really like Impala for our data scientists is that they get to ask a lot of different questions when they are researching. Our CTO wants them to ask 1,000 questions quickly before they land on the "right question," said Tim Garnto, chief information officer at edo Interactive. "Our team moves fast so it's great to see Pentaho certified on Cloudera 5 right at the launch. For us, it's another sign of their strong partnership and technology.

"Cloudera is a long time strategic partner of Pentaho and through Cloudera's certification program we can provide support for Cloudera 5 on the day it is released to the enterprise," said Paul Vasquez, Senior Product Manager, Technology Partners at Pentaho. "Customers wanting to start a new big data project or scale an existing one should be at ease knowing that Pentaho has executed the rigorous tests that are required for certification on Cloudera's platform for big data. Pentaho is at the forefront of innovation to provide customers with the toolset and big data blueprints to maximize their big data success, today."
