The vision for Celent’s Model Insurer research is to try to answer an apparently simple question: “What would it look like for an insurer to do everything right with today’s technology?” The report goes further and looks at how insurers consider innovation in the initiatives they submit for consideration as a Model Insurer.


The initiatives reviewed for this report are considered innovative by the insurers executing them, and certainly are worth pursuing as they are sought to change how things are done. However, under Celent’s more specific definition, some are categorized as an improvement, some as innovation, and some as disruption.
