Hitachi Data Systems Appoints New ANZ Country Manager to Spearhead Growth in Information Solutions, Cloud and Big Data

Neil Evans Succeeds Neville Vincent, Who Was Promoted to SVP and GM, Asia Pacific, Based in Hong Kong

AUSTRALIA — April 16, 2013 — Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), today announced the appointment of Neil Evans as vice president and country manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. In this role, Evans will spearhead continued company growth in the region, capitalising on business opportunities from information solutions, cloud and big data.

With overall responsibilities for growing the business across ANZ,Evans will manage all operational aspects, including driving business strategies, setting performance goals, and growing overall profitability of the company. He joins the Hitachi Data Systems ANZ team from Europe where he was regional vice president and general manager of Eastern EMEA, managing a region comprising 38 countries. Evans has held general manager positions in Russia and the CIS countries at Hitachi Data Systems in addition to his role as the general manager for channels in EMEA.

Based in Sydney, Evans will focus on executing the Hitachi vision of being a trusted provider of innovative information solutions to the market through its strategic big data and cloud-based offerings. Evans succeeds current vice president and country manager Neville Vincent, who has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific, and who will develop the strategy to drive the business forward across the region. Vincent, who is relocating to Hong Kong for his regional role, said, “Neil is a highly successful general manager with a strong track record in exceeding revenue and profit targets in new and existing markets for IT, software and services organisations. He will be a great leader and addition to the Hitachi family in ANZ.”

During Vincent’s leadership, Hitachi Data Systems business in Oceania expanded with significant year on year growth in revenue and customer base. Vincent has been with Hitachi Data Systems since 2005, having previously served as managing director of the company’s Korean operations.

Before joining Hitachi Data Systems, Evans co-founded a management consultancy firm providing sales, marketing and leadership support to UK organisations. He has also held senior roles at Computacenter and numerous system integrators, consultancy partners, independent software vendors (ISV), distribution businesses and application partners across the UK.
