Virtual Conference sponsored by Hitachi Vantara

Many organizations are struggling to realize the benefits of IoT, mIoT, IIoT, or any other naming convention used in the marketplace today to describe the Internet of Things . Most IoT initiatives never see the light of day and never go beyond the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase. That is largely due to the fact that most organization take a fairly IT centric approach to IoT and even when they take a business approach to it, it is mostly focused on a very limited aspect of the business and does not provide a roadmap to overall business enablement. That in return affects adoption and sponsorship. So it is not uncommon to see multiple IoT initiatives being chartered in an organization without coordination between the various stakeholders, utilizing various and different platforms that in essence defeats the purpose of IoT.

AI driven auto-tagging helps tame the data swamp, uncovering data semantics and relationships between siloed data assets. Data lineage is critical to an AI driven enterprise, driving all business decisions while maintaining regulatory compliance. It is also difficult to implement at scale, not only because large quantities of data across numerous systems must be inventoried and tracked, but also because the data is not static and needs context to make sense to the business. Business rules enable users to leverage metadata to derive sophisticated business specific metadata for your environment. If you are a data management or governance and risk practitioner evaluating enterprise data catalogs, this webinar is for you. We will walk through key business challenges around catalogs and demonstrate how auto-tagging, data lineage and business rules can help address them.

As organizations seek to capitalize on an increasing amount of data from edge devices and servers (whether on premise or in the cloud), they can’t afford to be constrained by the latency and bandwidth limitations that comes with data transmission. In some situations, operational control requires real-time monitoring and analytics capabilities.Finding how to balance data between edge-based devices and the cloud has become a challenge, which is even truer when considering the need for enterprises to manage and govern data across their ecosystems.Lumada Data Management solution helps organizations to take such challenge, thanks to its scalable, composable, secure, end-to-end and edge-to-cloud architecture….Let me show you how.
Mike Williams, Global Solution Lead, Hitachi Vantara
To gain the full benefits of the DataOps strategy, your data lakes must change. The traditional concept of bringing all data to one place, whether on-premises or in the cloud, raises questions of timing, scale, organization, and budget. The answer is the data fabric. It replaces the traditional data lake organization concepts with a more flexible and economical architecture. In this session we will define what a data fabric is, show you how you can begin organizing around the concept, and discuss how to align it to your business objectives.

What does good really look like? In this session, we’ll show how Continuous Delivery (CD) changes the economics of developing software and information systems for some of the biggest companies in the world. Find out how and why.

The COVID-19 coronavirus and the human suffering it has wrought are rapidly changing the way we live and work. In the near term, staying at home and practicing social distancing are vital to ‘flattening the curve’. However, when we do venture out of our homes in the coming months, it is likely that a vaccine for the coronavirus will still be months or even a year or more away. As societies loosen social distancing practices, there is a real possibility we could experience further outbreaks unless the institutions and businesses we rely on do all they can to prevent the further spread of the disease. In this webinar we will cover how technology - alongside such continued good practices as hand-washing - could play a vital role in helping to isolate cases and support a targeted approach to quarantine. Learn how a layered approach using emerging technologies like 3D lidar, video intelligence, IoT and AI are helping to: - Contain the spread of the virus using elevated body temperature sensing alerts- Prevent the spread of disease through handwashing verification and social distancing compliance through 3D lidar without personally identifiable information (PII)- Report on and comply with policies, using analytics and incident management solutions to provide transparency to employees, customers, and regulatorsDisclaimer: These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Practical Steps for the IT Executive.Remaining competitive in the modern financial world requires staying ahead of increasingly sophisticated financial crimes and fluid regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Simply monitoring sanctions lists is no longer an option. Financial institutions must be able to generate a complete picture of each entity they onboard. At the same time, standard AML systems generate a high proportion of false positives – estimated at 80% to 90% of alerts – creating bottlenecks, adding risk and annoying customers. In fact, one study showed that 12% of corporations had changed banks because of KYC issues.Addressing these challenges requires new strategies and innovative technologies that enable real-time risk profiling and continuous KYC. Financial institutions can leverage machine learning and data automation to improve compliance, reduce risk, streamline operations and keep their customers happy. In this webinar we will discuss:
•How evolving regulations and increasingly sophisticated threats drive AML complexity.
•Innovative technologies, from AI to blockchain to biometrics, that help financial institutions stay one step ahead of financial criminals.
•What steps firms can take today to leverage the power of machine learning and maximize the value of their data.
•How banks can de-risk their customer onboarding while maintaining best-in-class customer service.

In the past few months, there has been a flurry of IT trend predictions. Just about everything has been covered ad nauseam. I have contributed my thoughts about these trends to publications for over 10 years. This year, I have decided to do something different and give you some IT projections that go beyond my usual coverage of short-term trends. I have teamed with Paul Lewis, Hitachi Vantara’s Global Vice President of Industry and Enterprise Architecture, to project how IT might be 10 years out. 10 years is a lifetime in IT technology, but we feel that there is a high probability that these things will happen in this time frame. And there are things that we need to start doing today to get ready for the disruptions that these technologies will drive. The topics we will cover include what compute, storage and AI might look like in 2030.

Hitachi Vantara is focused on enabling organizations to unlock the full value of data by leveraging dynamic pseudonymisation to enable data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital transformation. The GDPR imposes lesser obligations and liabilities when technical and organizational measures are put into place as safeguards to protect the fundamental rights of data subject. You can achieve many business objectives associated with data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital transformation by separating the information value of data – on the one hand – from the risk of re-identification – on the other hand, by leveraging GDPR compliant pseudonymisation.

The automotive industry has been a leader in factory automation over the past 30 years. Much of the difficult, repetitive, physical work of producing cars – like welding, painting, assembly, etc. - is now done by industrial robots. While this automation has delivered benefits, it has also increased the complexity of managing and maintaining the factory. And in some cases, high levels of hard automation have reduced production flexibility. Today’s “fourth industrial revolution” is enabled by digitization: harvesting the vast amounts of data in these automated factories, to improve productivity/quality/flexibility through advanced analytics and cognitive systems. This webinar will introduce some of the key opportunities for digitizing automotive production, based on Hitachi’s experience in the sector. · Digitization of Manufacturing: Opportunities & Challenges· Three Digitization Opportunities: Welding, Painting, Assembly· Conclusions & Lessons Learned

CIOs increasingly need to care about the finances and costs of IT. They must create services that business segments demand and align them with IT resources from other sources (like cloud providers). Internal IT has to compare and compete with new commercial offerings that are often sold directly to the business. IT will see major transformations in delivery and ownership over the next few years, and IT managers will need better transparency in internal costs in order to be relevant and competitive. There are many cases where IT departments need to act more like profit centers, treating internal users like customers and potentially even brokering several service models. New methods of metering, service level agreement management, chargeback and service flexibility are required. By attending this webcast, you’ll learn how to:
•Understand what a CIO requires to know the true costs of IT.
•Communicate with lines of business about internal and external IT delivery and service options.
•Not be seduced by low prices (software as a service, platform as a service) and to communicate and measure total costs of IT.
•Identify, measure and set plans to reduce IT costs.

The world of storage is changing. High performance applications like databases, typically structured data, will require flash storage whereas File Services and new Cloud applications will need low cost, scalable object storage solutions. Sharing data today is more than just file shares. Accessing data any time, from any location, on any device is the new mantra requiring high availability of data in an Always-On IT infrastructure. Smart data management and data protection will need to be simplified, automated and integrated to drive down costs while optimising the value of data to meet the new demands of the changing world of storage.

The Evolution of Converged Infrastructure. Converged infrastructure solutions are evolving rapidly. While first-generation converged solutions were focused mainly on offering superior time to production, the new generation of solutions also focuses on offering significant improvements in operating value. They provide faster mean time to resolution, simpler and faster ways to provision and increment resources, and a higher degree of automation in areas such as systems management (for instance, automated firmware upgrades).
Chris Van Der Drift, Fracois Zimmerman, Udo Walberer.
Companies that are serious about moving to on-demand, service-led delivery recognise that they need to change from horizontally organised IT to vertically aligned IT. This has a huge impact on the day-to-day role of domain architects and enables them to move from a tactical to a strategic role. For example, instead of executing repetitive low-level provisioning tasks they now define policies and resource pools and manage service classes so that infrastructure can be consumed on-demand from a cloud management portal. In order to support this transition we need new management tools that can accelerate time to market and eliminate the operational handoffs between domain architects for hypervisor, server, network and storage layers.Join this discussion with the Hitachi Private Cloud team who can share how Hitachi can guide you through this transition as you adapt your role and remain relevant in the world of cloud.
