Avnet Technology Solutions and Hitachi Data Systems Partner to Deliver Information Management Solutions in Australia
SYDNEY, 3 December 2013 - Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), and Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), have entered into a distribution partnership within Australia. The extension of the existing relationship between the two organisations from the U.S. and markets in EMEA to Australia marks a milestone for both companies committed to empowering the channel to deliver best-in-class infrastructure, content management and converged technologies. The agreement allows Avnet to provide HDS hardware, software and services to customers through its strong network of value-added resellers and system integration channel partners.

The distribution agreement with Avnet forms an integral part of HDS' continuous investment in its Australian channel, allowing partners to target industries such as Health and Life Sciences, Government, Media and Entertainment, and the Resources sectors with tailored solutions delivered through traditional licence as well as service models. Hitachi Data Systems recently formed the Industry and Alliance Solutions team in Australia and New Zealand with Phil Teague at its helm and has been growing its channel-focused team with the appointments of Matt Wilson as distribution manager and Ed Daven as channel marketing manager.
