Hainbuch runs Pentaho Business Analytics with the Centos 6 Linus distribution. They use VMWare 5.5 virtual services and a MySQL database. Initially, they tested the Community edition of Pentaho. Eventually they migrated to the Enterprise Edition for its greater functionality and ease of use. Lastly, Pentaho's Consulting Services ensured an efficient, high-quality implementation, and they provided training services.

The German machine tools manufacturer chose Hitachi Vantara's Pentaho platform for various reasons. Pentaho's fast and easy to use reporting and analysis was a key benefit. They appreciated that Pentaho automated their ETL (extract, transform, load) process. Furthermore, Hainbuch picked Hitachi Vantara’s big data integration and analytics solution because of its broad connectivity with other tools.

Hainbuch is now able to consolidate insight and knowledge about KPI's, such as revenue by product groups or country, cost base or product groups and on-time delivery. Their operations department works with Pentaho on a data basis. Their data is updated and loaded overnight using a standardized process. Three members of the team work on analysis and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis. They are able to provide insights to management and sales. The team can now provide ad-hoc analysis when needed.
