Sydney — May 28, 2015 —Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), today announced the appointment of Jacques Cronjé as territory manager for Auckland, New Zealand, responsible for building and supporting the company’s growing customer base and partner ecosystem in the region.
The appointment is in response to significant opportunities and growth in the New Zealand market. Over the last 18 months, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has brought on 20 new partners across New Zealand and Australia in order to support emerging demand in the market for cloud, convergence, data mobility, data protection, big data analytics, and Internet of Things. The partners will round out the skills, capabilities and solutions required by end users.
2014 HDS ANZ Partner of the Year, Revera, a New Zealand-based cloud service provider and long-standing HDS partner, will be one of the partners benefitting from Cronjé’s appointment.
“Hitachi Data Systems shares our commitment to partnership as a means to deliver innovative services and solutions as market demands and customer requirements continue to evolve. Close collaboration with partners such as HDS, who are aligned to our vision, strategy, services and solutions, ensures that we can deliver the high performance, end-to-end experience, and business outcomes our customers expect,” said Keith Archibald, head of innovation at Revera. “We applaud the continued investment from HDS in partnership and in our region.”
Cronjé has more than 20 years experience in the IT sector, and specialises in cloud, disaster recovery, virtualization and storage technologies. He joins HDS from Fujitsu, where he was responsible for business development and client management across a broad portfolio of Auckland customers. Prior to settling in New Zealand, Cronjé held positions with a number of top-tier companies in the UK and South Africa, including Persetel, Barclays and Ernst & Young.
“As more organizations look to transform through cloud, virtualization and managed services, HDS understands that partnership and collaboration is critical. We continue to deepen and grow our partner relationships in order to engage with and support end users in a way that helps them achieve their desired business outcomes,” said Laurence Cole, HDS ANZ Corporate Sales Director. “Our appointment of Jacques will support that mission. Furthermore, with his deep IT and professional services consulting experience, Jacques will offer unique insights and business value to the growing New Zealand partner ecosystem and customer base he will support.”
