Hitachi Data Systems to Spotlight Virtualization and Cloud Technologies at Upcoming Industry Conferences

HDS to Appear at Oracle OpenWorld 2011, Gartner Symposium/ITxpo,
SEG Symposium, Storage Decisions, Microsoft SharePoint, Educause and IACP

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — September 16, 2011 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT / TSE: 6501), will showcase its data center transformation technologies including virtualization and cloud computing solutions, at several industry events throughout September and October, including Oracle OpenWorld 2011 and Gartner Symposium/ITxpo. Through speaking sessions and ongoing booth demonstrations, the company will demonstrate how it is transforming traditional, siloed data centers into information centers where customer data becomes more useful and actionable.

Oracle OpenWorld 2011: October 2 – 6, 2011

Oracle OpenWorld 2011 attendees can experience Hitachi and Oracle solutions in action in the HDS and Hitachi Consulting booth #2101 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Technologies to be demonstrated in the booth include Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control, Oracle Virtual Machine Manager and Oracle Recovery Manager integration with Hitachi servers and storage systems for improved service levels in highly available Oracle environments.

Gartner Symposium ITxpo: October 16 – 20, 2011

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo will be held at Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida. In booth #PS9, HDS, along with Hitachi Consulting and Hitachi ID Systems, will showcase virtualization and cloud computing technologies that help attendees reduce IT complexities and operating costs, optimize storage and resource utilization and create a foundation to build a private or public cloud.
