Hitachi Data Systems Named as One of Best Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area for the Fourth Consecutive Year
Bay Area News Group Ranks HDS Sixth Among Top Large Company Workplaces
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — June 21, 2012 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., (TSE: 6501), today announced that for the fourth consecutive year it has been named among the top workplaces in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ranking is according to a list published by the Bay Area News Group, publisher of the San Jose Mercury News and other leading news sites and publications. Hitachi Data Systems is ranked sixth on the 2012 list in the Large Companies category.
“To be named as one of the Bay Area’s best places to work is a reflection of our strong commitment to our employees and our unique culture at HDS. The ranking was published in the San Jose Mercury News, Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times, and San Mateo County Times. It is based on a confidential survey of employees at different workplaces in the San Francisco Bay Area. The survey covered topics such as company leadership, values, communications, training and development, compensation, and working conditions and culture.
Along with the Bay Area Best Places to Work recognition, in 2012 Hitachi Data Systems was also named one of FORTUNE Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and one of the 40 Best Companies for Leaders by Chief Executive Magazine. The company was also recently included as one of Ethisphere’s 2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies, marking the second consecutive year HDS has been named to the prestigious list. The award features organizations that show leadership in promoting ethical business standards.
