Pentaho Helps Customers Distill Faster Predictions from Large-Scale Hadoop Big Data Refineries

Streamlined data refinery now optimized for HP Vertica

August 11, 2014, Boston, HP Vertica Big Data Conference — Delivering the future of analytics, Pentaho Corporation today announced the Streamlined Data Refinery solution architecture, optimized for the HP Vertica Analytics Platform. With a Streamlined Data Refinery, organizations can create analytic datasets within Hadoop and immediately push that data to HP Vertica, for fast and highly interactive analytics. With the combined Pentaho and HP Vertica solution, customers can unlock their investment in Hadoop to blend, explore, analyze, and visualize all of their data at scale with exceptional performance.

"We're using Pentaho and HP Vertica to quickly slice and dice terabytes of data and millions of daily records, plus record click stream data and pixel logs," said Jaiesh Khavani, Senior Manager, BI & Data Warehousing at Beachmint. "While Hadoop is a great landing zone for our big data requirements, to truly engineer data sets for predictive analytics, we need purpose-built platforms like HP Vertica and Pentaho to provide the data integration, reporting, and visualization capabilities to drive meaningful insights."

Through this collaboration, analytics-ready datasets are blended from across the enterprise leveraging HP Vertica for exceptional performance for interactive analytics against minimally modeled data. As one of the four big data blueprints built by Pentaho, the Streamlined Data Refinery for HP Vertica offers IT developers easy-to-use, in cluster data integration capabilities to power scalable and interactive analytics for end users.

According to Christopher Dziekan, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Pentaho, "This collaboration is part of our ongoing strategy to simplify the hardest aspects of big data analytics to make it faster, easier and more accessible to all. Our tightly integrated data and analytics platform takes the best of both HP Vertica and Hadoop, to deliver a Streamlined Data Refinery that unleashes the power of raw data from across the enterprise, orchestrating it into a form for fast, interactive analysis for effective business decisions."

The Streamlined Data Refinery for HP Vertica is available today. Pentaho will demonstrate the solution at the Big Data Conference, August 11-14 in Boston and PentahoWorld, October 8-10 in Orlando, Florida.
