Many organizations are struggling to realize the benefits of IoT, mIoT, IIoT, or any other naming convention used in the marketplace today to describe the Internet of Things . Most IoT initiatives never see the light of day and never go beyond the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase. That is largely due to the fact that most organization take a fairly IT centric approach to IoT and even when they take a business approach to it, it is mostly focused on a very limited aspect of the business and does not provide a roadmap to overall business enablement. That in return affects adoption and sponsorship. So it is not uncommon to see multiple IoT initiatives being chartered in an organization without coordination between the various stakeholders, utilizing various and different platforms that in essence defeats the purpose of IoT.
AI driven auto-tagging helps tame the data swamp, uncovering data semantics and relationships between siloed data assets. Data lineage is critical to an AI driven enterprise, driving all business decisions while maintaining regulatory compliance. It is also difficult to implement at scale, not only because large quantities of data across numerous systems must be inventoried and tracked, but also because the data is not static and needs context to make sense to the business. Business rules enable users to leverage metadata to derive sophisticated business specific metadata for your environment. If you are a data management or governance and risk practitioner evaluating enterprise data catalogs, this webinar is for you. We will walk through key business challenges around catalogs and demonstrate how auto-tagging, data lineage and business rules can help address them.

The COVID-19 coronavirus and the human suffering it has wrought are rapidly changing the way we live and work. In the near term, staying at home and practicing social distancing are vital to ‘flattening the curve’. However, when we do venture out of our homes in the coming months, it is likely that a vaccine for the coronavirus will still be months or even a year or more away. As societies loosen social distancing practices, there is a real possibility we could experience further outbreaks unless the institutions and businesses we rely on do all they can to prevent the further spread of the disease. In this webinar we will cover how technology - alongside such continued good practices as hand-washing - could play a vital role in helping to isolate cases and support a targeted approach to quarantine. Learn how a layered approach using emerging technologies like 3D lidar, video intelligence, IoT and AI are helping to: - Contain the spread of the virus using elevated body temperature sensing alerts- Prevent the spread of disease through handwashing verification and social distancing compliance through 3D lidar without personally identifiable information (PII)- Report on and comply with policies, using analytics and incident management solutions to provide transparency to employees, customers, and regulatorsDisclaimer: These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

CIOs increasingly need to care about the finances and costs of IT. They must create services that business segments demand and align them with IT resources from other sources (like cloud providers). Internal IT has to compare and compete with new commercial offerings that are often sold directly to the business. IT will see major transformations in delivery and ownership over the next few years, and IT managers will need better transparency in internal costs in order to be relevant and competitive. There are many cases where IT departments need to act more like profit centers, treating internal users like customers and potentially even brokering several service models. New methods of metering, service level agreement management, chargeback and service flexibility are required. By attending this webcast, you’ll learn how to: •Understand what a CIO requires to know the true costs of IT.•Communicate with lines of business about internal and external IT delivery and service options.•Not be seduced by low prices (software as a service, platform as a service) and to communicate and measure total costs of IT.•Identify, measure and set plans to reduce IT costs.

The Evolution of Converged Infrastructure. Converged infrastructure solutions are evolving rapidly. While first-generation converged solutions were focused mainly on offering superior time to production, the new generation of solutions also focuses on offering significant improvements in operating value. They provide faster mean time to resolution, simpler and faster ways to provision and increment resources, and a higher degree of automation in areas such as systems management (for instance, automated firmware upgrades).
Companies that are serious about moving to on-demand, service-led delivery recognise that they need to change from horizontally organised IT to vertically aligned IT. This has a huge impact on the day-to-day role of domain architects and enables them to move from a tactical to a strategic role. For example, instead of executing repetitive low-level provisioning tasks they now define policies and resource pools and manage service classes so that infrastructure can be consumed on-demand from a cloud management portal. In order to support this transition we need new management tools that can accelerate time to market and eliminate the operational handoffs between domain architects for hypervisor, server, network and storage layers.Join this discussion with the Hitachi Private Cloud team who can share how Hitachi can guide you through this transition as you adapt your role and remain relevant in the world of cloud.
