Hitachi Data Systems Focuses on Government With Appointment of New Government Sales Director, Australia and New Zealand

Industry Veteran Tony Whigham Spearheads Digital Transformation and Social Innovation Opportunities in Canberra

Canberra — February 2, 2017 — Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501), today announced the appointment of Tony Whigham as Government Sales Director, Australia and New Zealand. Based in Canberra, he is tasked with growing the business in strategic federal and state government accounts and developing new areas of collaboration with Hitachi Social Innovation solutions.

He joins HDS from Aruba Networks, owned by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he has been in the role of director-Federal Government. Whigham has been active in the IT market in Canberra for over 25 years. In that time he has held senior leadership positions in companies such as Dimension Data, Teradata, and Optus.
