We’re Hitachi Vantara, the data foundation trusted by the world’s innovators. Our resilient, high-performance data infrastructure means that customers – from banks to theme parks – can focus on achieving the incredible with data.
If you’ve seen the Las Vegas Sphere, you’ve seen just one example of how we empower businesses to automate, optimize, innovate – and wow their customers. Right now, we’re laying the foundation for our next wave of growth. We’re looking for people who love being part of a diverse, global team – and who get excited about making a real-world impact with data.
What you’ll bring
1) Research for new product ideas
• Own and drive innovation discovery by continuously scanning technology trends, customer pain points, and adjacent markets to identify high-impact product opportunities.
• Build structured problem statements, hypotheses, and validation plans (e.g., desirability/feasibility/viability) to assess which ideas merit investment. (suggested expansion)
• Translate ambiguous inputs into clear research narratives for product leadership (what problem, for whom, why now, expected value). (suggested expansion)
• Create and maintain an innovation pipeline/backlog with prioritization rationale, assumptions, and decision logs. (suggested expansion)
2) Research competitors’ products
• Lead competitive intelligence: evaluate competing offerings, positioning, differentiators, and roadmap signals; summarize insights into actionable recommendations.
• Develop feature/price/packaging comparisons, and identify whitespace opportunities and parity gaps that impact win/loss. (suggested expansion)
• Partner with Sales/SE/CS to gather field feedback and convert insights into product requirements or strategic bets. (suggested expansion)
3) Product use case creation
• Define end-to-end use cases, user journeys, and workflows, including personas, functional/non-functional requirements, and success criteria.
• Convert stakeholder needs into structured artifacts such as use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules, ensuring they are consumable by engineering. (This is consistent with standard BA responsibility patterns found internally.)
• Drive requirements walkthroughs/workshops with cross-functional stakeholders to align scope, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
• Ensure traceability from use case → requirement → design → implementation → validation (helpful for auditability and delivery clarity).
4) POC development on new product ideas
• Own and/or guide Proof of Concept (PoC) execution to validate technical feasibility, performance, scalability, integration paths, and customer value.
• Define PoC scope, success metrics, test plans, and risks; present outcomes with clear “go / no-go / iterate” recommendations. (suggested expansion)
• Produce PoC deliverables: architecture notes, demo flows, evaluation findings, and implementation options to accelerate productization. (suggested expansion)
5) Coordination with engineering team for implementation of the use cases
• Act as a senior bridge between Product/R&D and Engineering to ensure requirements clarity, sequencing, and implementation alignment.
• Partner with Engineering leads to break down complex use cases into phased delivery, dependencies, and milestone-based plans. (suggested expansion)
• Provide ongoing clarification during build cycles and support sprint execution via structured backlog refinement and prioritization support (aligned with internal BA patterns).
• Identify risks early (scope creep, technical constraints, data/infra gaps) and drive mitigation plans with stakeholders. (suggested expansion)
6) Product deployment at customer environment
• Lead/coordinate customer environment deployments (pilot → production) including readiness checks, rollout plans, success criteria, and issue triage.
• Work with Solution Architects/Support/Engineering to validate real-world constraints (security, networking, performance, compliance) and ensure repeatable deployment patterns. (suggested expansion)
• Capture deployment learnings and convert them into product improvements, documentation updates, and operational runbooks. (suggested expansion)
