What You’ll Hear.

The contemporary threat landscape, characterized by advanced persistent threats and supply chain compromises, has rendered the concept of a perfectly secure network a dangerous fallacy. This analysis moves beyond traditional cybersecurity's prevention-centric model to propose a framework for cyber resiliency—the ability to deliver intended outcomes despite ongoing cyberattacks. Hitachi with 100+ years of legacy and having leadership in both IT and Operational Technology (OT), deconstructs resiliency into critical operational domains: Assume Breach mindset, Zero Trust principles to minimize blast radius, and Cyber Recovery assurance with isolated, immutable backups to ensure restoration. Furthermore, we identify the existential threat posed by quantum computing to current public-key cryptography (e.g., RSA, ECC). A truly resilient posture must therefore be "Quantum-Safe," proactively integrating post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms and quantum key distribution (QKD) to safeguard data against both present and future cryptographically-relevant quantum attacks.
