Summer is right around the corner here in the Northern Hemisphere, and with summer comes Cisco Live! in Las Vegas. Travel plans are being made, agendas are being reviewed, and the exhibitor list is being scrutinized.

This time around, however, things are a little different. As temperatures rise, so too is the stress on our infrastructure systems to support exponentially rising data volumes thanks to advances in things like Generative AI, IoT, social, and more. Meanwhile, the strain on infrastructure is only making the challenge of sustainability more difficult. As the dependence on data to run our businesses grows, so too does the focus to do so responsibly.

And for Cisco Live, things will be a little different, too. The business challenges of today have changed the traditional aspects of events when all we focused on was the “what” – as in, what can we show you. But this time around, we’re going to zero-in on the “how,” and demonstrate how our two companies are coming together to help you overcome your toughest enterprise challenges with speed and agility.

Data Center Decarbonization as a New Priority

Most enterprises have added to their list of priorities the need to conduct business in a more sustainable manner, yet not all have a plan in place or know where to begin. This comes at a time when virtually all aspects of business are being scrutinized, including how manage the digital infrastructure. Consider that data centers account for 4% of the total greenhouse emissions worldwide, and most predict those levels will only rise over time. The challenge becomes balancing what we need to do in terms of IT infrastructure, while taking aggressive steps to reduce our carbon footprint?

This is where Hitachi Vantara and Cisco come together. Hitachi Vantara and Cisco have taken climate change seriously, which is evident in the steps that both companies have taken to ensure their respective technologies are more energy efficient, requiring less power and able to be measured for carbon emissions. This means you can deploy IT infrastructure based on Cisco and Hitachi Vantara technology that will help you to achieve both your business and sustainability targets. In other words, we can help you to do more with less computing, storage, and power.
