Hitachi Data Systems Shortlisted For 2014-15 Cloud Awards Program

December 17, 2014

Hitachi Content Platform Anywhere Listed as Finalist for "Best In Mobile Cloud Solution"

Santa Clara, CA, December 17, 2014 – Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), today announced it has been shortlisted in the 2014-2015 Cloud Awards Program for the category "Best in Mobile Cloud Solution." HDS was nominated for its Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) Anywhere offering.

Built end-to-end by Hitachi Data Systems, HCP Anywhere is the most secure, simple and smart file sync and share collaboration solution on the market. HCP Anywhere is a powerful enterprise mobility application. It’s the only truly private file sync and share solution on the market. It maintains all aspects of data sharing, content security, and workflow in a fully on-premise, IT-controlled environment. This allows IT to maintain full visibility and control and minimize the risk of users inadvertently exposing intellectual property. HCP Anywhere enables organizations to support "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) initiatives and facilitates better collaboration and productivity among users. End users simply save a file to their HCP Anywhere folder and it automatically synchronizes to all of their registered devices and is available via popular Web browsers with your corporate login.

"The competition was fierce, so for Hitachi Data Systems to be shortlisted in the Best in Mobile category of the 2014-15 Cloud Awards program is a special honor," said Tanya Loughlin, director, content and mobility product marketing, Hitachi Data Systems. "We feel privileged to be recognized among the other nominees and believe HCP Anywhere supports the bring-your-own-device movement better than anything else and helps your increasingly mobile workforce be productive anywhere, at any time, on any device."

"The standard of entries to this year’s program has been truly staggering – so much so that even after culling hundreds of organizations from our consideration, our shortlist is still longer than ever before," said Cloud Awards organizer Larry Johnson.

"We’ve been very impressed with how the cloud ecosystem has evolved by the end of 2014 and these best-of-breed organizations are knocking it out of the park in terms of performance. These technologies aren’t going away: leverage them now or ignore them at your peril."

Final winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. This will not be the end of the process, with a public vote announced on this date to decide who will win the Cloud Computing Organization of the Year Award.
